Civitas master plan

High-growth entrepreneurs are great for the world. They solve problems, create valuable products and services, pay taxes, and provide meaningful employment for their teams. Often, they become valuable contributors to their communities. The world needs more outstanding entrepreneurs.¹

We know that top accelerators, CEO networks, and entrepreneurial communities are breeding grounds for creating exceptional entrepreneurs. Civitas is a combination of the best ideas we have gathered from these communities, with the aim of increasing the odds of an entrepreneur building a successful business.

Our first step is to develop a low-cost, scalable community model that will increase a founder's chance of success by as much as possible. This model will provide founders with practical know-how to become great entrepreneurs and scale their businesses to R100 million or R1 billion. It will also offer warm introductions to help grow their business and encourage them to become better entrepreneurs.

Next, we plan to create a model that will allow any high-quality founder or angel investor to replicate the community model in other cities. The model should be simple and profitable enough that top-quality founders are willing to spend a lifetime supporting and helping other founders grow. In addition, the model should generate surplus cash enable them to invest in the top founder in their communities.

Once we have the ideal model, we aim to scale it to every major city worldwide. This will provide every ambitious founder with the opportunity to be a part of a community that offers the best chance of success. We believe that this will result in a significant increase in innovation, prosperity, and living standards for people worldwide.

In short, our master plan is:

  1. Create a community model that significantly increases a founder's odds of success.
  2. Help founders replicate the model in other cities while investing in the best founders.
  3. Help thousands of founders establish similar communities around the world.
  4. Help hundreds of thousands of founders scale businesses that contribute to a better world.

Notes

Some people might say that not all entrepreneurship is a net good for the world. We agree. There are some types of entrepreneurs that have a net negative impact on the world as described in Phishing for phools. As a result, we only aim to work with founders that are building businesses that contribute positively to their customers, stakeholders and the world in the short-term and long-term.
